چکیده

-Presently studied is the problem of maximizing the altitude of a rocket in vertical flight in a resisting medium, when the amount of propellant is specified, known as the Goddard problem. The case is studied in which the drag coefficient is a function of the Mach number, witnessing a sharp increase in the transonic region. Analysis shows the possibility of a more complex switching structure than the classical full-singular-coast sequence, with the appearance of a second full-thrust subarc in the transition from the subsonic to the supersonic region. Necessary conditions such as the Legendre-Clebsch condition for singular subarcs and the McDanell-Powers condition for joining singular and non-singular subarcs were checked, and were found to be satisfied. It is shown that the results obtained depend heavily on the assumed form of the drag law, and on the magnitude of the upper bound on the thrust.

Extended High-Gain Observer for Mars Entry Guidance

To deliver a Mars entry vehicle to the prescribed parachute deployment point, active entry guidance is essential. This paper addresses the problem of Mars atmospheric entry guidance through drag tracking method with extended high gain observer. First, an extended high gain observer combined with feedback linearization is applied in drag tracking for Mars entry longitudinal guidance. The observe...

Numerical Investigation on the Effect of Tunnel Height on Drag Reduction in a High Speed Trimaran

There are different methods to reduce drag in high speed hulls. One of these methods is a change in the shape of the body by adding longitudinal side tunnels. In this paper it has been attempted to determine the influence of the tunnel height on hydrodynamic characteristics of the hull to achieving an optimum shape for the tunnel. To achieve this purpose, numerical simulation of the problem has...

THE STEFAN PROBLEM WITH KINETIC FUNCTIONS AT THE FREE BOUNDARY

This paper considers a class of one-dimensional solidification problem in which kinetic undercooling is incorporated into the temperature condition at the interface. A model problem with nonlinear kinetic law is considered. The main result is an existence theorem. The mathematical effects of the kinetic term are discussed

Effects Of Frequency Variation At Inlet Flow On The Vortex Shedding Frequency Behind A Circular Cylinder

In many applications the flow that past bluff bodies has frequency nature (oscillated) and it is not uniform. This kind of flow has effects on the formation of vortex shedding behind bluff bodies. In this paper the flow around a circular cylinder was numerically simulated. The effects of frequency variation at inlet flow on the vortex shedding frequency were investigated. The transient Two-Dime...

Almost Global Robust Attitude Tracking for Spacecraft in Gravity with unknown Drag

In this paper, we treat the practical problem of tracking the attitude and angular velocity trajectory of a spacecraft in the presence of gravity and unknown drag moments with known bounds. Autonomous trajectory tracking is a practical problem for robotic spacecraft, besides autonomous aerial and ground vehicles. We assume that the trajectory to be tracked is known and smoothly varying with tim...
